the needs of the child, as a valued member of society, are put first. Therefore, our aim in this conference was to produce a practical educational resource that will be available to those who are truly concerned about the future of our children.
This Conference took place on 14th Oct. 2006 and centred on the following:
addressing the challenges through independent solutions: e.g. independent consultancies, home schooling, full-time independent schools.
addressing the challenges through extra-curricular/supplementary solutions: e.g. Saturday schools, mentoring schemes, Rites of Passage programmes.
addressing the challenges in the mainstream school system: e.g. lobbying for and advising government on policy review.
An electronic resource detailing the outcomes of the Conference workshops will be available in late 2006/early 2007. Please contact us regarding further information about the resource and the NIEC in general.
